About Me

What exactly is Lazy River?

We are a multi-media production company with a passion for creating music.

Lazy River began in 2017 as a weekly meetup between several young, independent music artists in Atlanta, GA. We began referring to the regular rendezvous as ‘Lazy River’ in reference to the name of an old street on which I grew up.  We created beats, designed several sound packs, and recorded tracks together.  As the studio moved around to different locations, the community grew and established themselves.  Community is the cornerstone of Lazy River Music.  From the samples we use to the live shows we do, this all created by and for the people. Our goal is to provide musicians a place to record and a platform for their story.  We are not a record label seeking to sign artists

We host weekly battles between producers to sharpen our skills & learn new techniques from each other.  We organize and support live shows for the artists we work with.

We bring together collaborations and provide clear information on royalties, splits and music rights.  We understand how shady this industry gets – we will always keep it solid with you.

We work with several musicians including Pack2sour, Saharra, Ehloh, Julio Vext, Jack Watts, Spaghetti Western, Vinny Fro, The Calm, musicbyelenai, Fabe Luciano, No days Off Entertainment, and The Fat Mastering to name a few!

We work on visuals with Patrick Rogers and Garrett Cardoso

Who is Cook?

My name is Chandler Cook and I am the founder of Lazy River Music! Most people just call me Cook.  I am a 26 year old North Atlanta native and I was influenced by music at an early age listening to the likes of Phil Collins, Outkast, Eminem, and Coldplay. In high school, I began writing and recording my own rap mixtapes on Garageband.  I created several songs rapping over Youtube beats and underground hip hop instrumentals.  I knew that my chances as a professional rapper were slim, but my skills in math and science were exceptional!  I decided Id pursue music and fund my equipment with saved money from a steady engineering job.  So, with dreams of becoming a rapper and a cracked version of Logic Pro, I headed off to Clemson University in pursuit of my master plan.  During my freshman year at Clemson, I bought my first drum pad (Akai MPD 226) and a shitty, old Victrola record player from another student in my dorm so that I could learn how to chop up samples. I learned how to record and edit vocals with DAWs and I started writing my first instrumentals.  I graduated from Clemson in 2017 with a bachelors degree in Materials Science and Engineering and an unofficial minor in beatmaking.

From 2017 to 2021, I engineered and project managed for Hemma Lighting Solutions and was blessed with the opportunity to travel the country & to learn how to operate a business.  I further refined my skills as a beat maker on Ableton and the Roland MC-101.  I picked up piano lessons in 2019 and I have learned how to read and write sheet music.  Now, I reside in Dunwoody, GA and operate Lazy River Music fulltime!
